Read and interpret construction plans and maps (i.e., site plans, boundary plans, highway plans, profile and cross sections, horizontal and vertical curves, pipeline plans, foundation plans, and map contours)
Directs and coordinates field work for a variety of standard types of surveys
May perform and/or check lot, area, and intersection (bearing-bearing, distance-distance, bearing-distance) computations
Train Rod Technicians and Instrument Technicians in the use and application of a Total Station, Robotic Total Station, Data Collectors and RTK GPS
Accurately calculates and records field data
Keep, reduce, and check (for completeness and accuracy) neat and orderly field notes for standard surveying operations (i.e., leveling, traversing, topographic mapping, layout, as-built surveys, boundary surveys, and cross-section surveys)
Enforce Company safety procedures and policies for survey field operations
Implement procedures for checking and verifying calibration of equipment being used
Requirements
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED; Specialized vocational training is a plus.
8+ years of experience in Survey with 4 years exp. as Party Chief preferred.
Must have a basic knowledge and understanding of construction plans and maps.
Must have valid driver’s license
Must have a willingness and ability to lift 50 lbs, work outside for 8 to 10 hours per day, and walk 2 miles.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members, co-workers, supervisors, and others.
